Thomasnet, part of Xometry, is moving from a traditional supplier directory to AI-assisted sourcing, where buyers describe what they need and the platform matches them with manufacturers. You will build and maintain the systems behind this shift, from user-facing product experiences to AI-powered features at the center of our strategy. This role involves hands-on technical leadership, writing clean code, reviewing peers, and delivering features end-to-end—from problem definition to production. You will work with a product manager and engineers to implement AI-powered capabilities such as LLMs, retrieval-augmented search, and vector search, with guardrails to ensure accuracy and safety. You will mentor engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and own testing and reliability. Requirements include 6+ years of software development experience, strong full-stack skills (backend TypeScript/Node.js with GraphQL APIs, React/Next.js frontend, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch), and experience building AI-powered features. Bonus points for multimodal embeddings, LangGraph/LangChain, and fine-tuning models for a domain. The base salary ranges from $170,000 to $195,000 annually, plus annual bonus; total compensation includes base, bonus, and equity. Xometry offers a competitive benefits package.
