PitchBook, a Morningstar company, is seeking a Senior Editor to lead production of the Daily Pitch, its flagship newsletter covering the private markets. This on-site role is based in Seattle, Washington, and offers the opportunity to shape daily coverage for dealmakers, allocators, and investors while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Data Operations to enhance datasets and tools.
Primary responsibilities: - Own the Daily Pitch end to end: set the lineup, edit every item, write and sharpen headlines and leads, and ensure the newsletter ships on deadline every weekday. - Exercise strong news judgment on deadline, reworking the lineup for late-breaking coverage. - Liaise with PitchBook’s Institutional Research Group to translate analyst reports and proprietary datasets into accessible, visually compelling items for a dealmaker audience. - Partner with reporters and editors across the newsroom to identify and elevate high-impact stories for the newsletter. - Own audience growth and engagement metrics for the newsletter, including open and click rates and subscriber growth, and iterate on format and story selection accordingly. - Use AI tools to augment editorial workflows and maintain editorial standards of accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity. - Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors. - Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree; 7+ years of financial journalism with 3+ years focused on private equity, venture capital, or M&A. -
