Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager for on-site construction projects in Phoenix, Arizona. The role oversees the overall planning, management, and execution of assigned projects, potentially handling multiple projects simultaneously while maximizing profitability and ensuring quality and safety to meet owner expectations.
Key responsibilities include assisting with estimating, preparing budgets and cost reports, leading the project team in developing the project management plan, participating in value engineering, organizing pre-award and pre-construction meetings, negotiating subcontracts, obtaining permits, and developing project schedules with the project superintendent. The PM manages procurement of materials and equipment within budget and schedule constraints, monitors quality, safety, and risk, and tracks cost performance. You will handle change orders and their cost/profit impact, prepare monthly client pay requests, coordinate payments with the job cost accountant, participate in monthly cost reviews, document coordination meetings, and oversee close-out activities (as-built drawings, substantial completion, and final letters). The role requires effective collaboration with owners, architects, vendors, community and state officials, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of five years of project management experience, plus a valid driver’s license.
