Overview We are seeking a Junior Kotlin/Java Software Engineer to join the Custody area at Scalable Capital in Munich, Germany, on a hybrid basis.
What you'll do - Contribute to the development and evolution of business-critical custody services using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot. - Collaborate with experienced engineers in cross-functional teams, applying agile practices, Domain-Driven Design, code reviews, automated testing and continuous delivery. - Learn to build and operate cloud-native applications on AWS, including containerized services on ECS and event-driven workloads on Lambda. - Help ensure reliable delivery and operations through infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability and monitoring. - Write clean, secure, well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to valuable, resilient financial workflows.
What we're looking for - Degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, or related fields. - Practical experience with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot. - Understanding of OO programming, API development, relational databases and automated testing. - Interest in Domain-Driven Design and translating business requirements into software. - Curiosity about cloud-native development, distributed systems and AWS. - Commitment to code quality and security, plus a collaborative mindset and openness to feedback. - Interest in complex financial workflows and quick learning.
