Job Summary: The Data Scientist Assistant 1 will perform detailed analyses of large, heterogeneous data to uncover patterns and insights that improve patient health and inform the development of new products and technologies. The role requires deep expertise in data analysis methods and knowledge of data types, topics, and scientific challenges, and will involve collaboration with Data Science and Informatics faculty as well as IT teams to develop data- and intelligence-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities: - Participate in multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and recommend new approaches for data-driven decision-making. - Lead discovery processes for AI and ML-based approaches to solve complex data problems across domains such as cancer, surgery, planning services, marketing, and healthcare delivery. - Provide strategic direction regarding data science and AI in specific areas. - Guide and educate data science teams to deliver unbiased, accurate analyses and recommendations to leadership. - Develop analytics tools that can be used by staff with non-technical backgrounds. - May collaborate with enterprise leadership to advance digital strategy. - Make strategic recommendations on data collection, integration, and retention aligned with business requirements and best practices. - Support scientific projects under supervision or through self-direction. - Design, develop, and modify scripts or software applications to support data management, extraction, and analysis. - Provide
