What you’ll do: - Assist the CFO in the overall direction of the department, including organizing staff, establishing objectives, and monitoring performance. - Provide comprehensive monthly business reviews for each division, analyzing budget versus actual results and explaining the story behind the numbers. - Lead and implement automation projects as needed; perform quality reviews to ensure procedures are followed and automation tools are used effectively. - Identify departmental staffing needs and participate in hiring processes; direct, train, and manage the performance of all direct reports. - Participate in company-wide and cross-department activities and committees as needed; administer timely performance management, including salary administration. - Ensure the completion and accuracy of the general ledger; reconcile insurer payables; prepare required journal entries and monthly financial statements. - Monitor cash positions daily and reconcile all bank accounts monthly; compile quarterly reporting and monthly use tax filings. - Assist in the preparation, filing, and reconciliation of federal, state, and local tax returns and related regulatory filings (e.g., surplus lines tax, excise tax, and 1099s). - Assist Human Resources with semi-mont
