Stirling Council is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join the Corporate Finance team on a temporary maternity-cover basis. This 35-hour-per-week role is based in Stirling, United Kingdom and offers a hybrid work arrangement. Salary is £47,976 - £50,865 per annum. Contract type is Temporary (maternity cover) until 31 December 2027. The Corporate Accountant will provide comprehensive accounting support to the finance department and wider council teams, delivering the council’s corporate finance functions including capital management, treasury management, and VAT; preparing year-end accounts in accordance with the Accounting Code of Practice; maintaining the fixed asset register and asset valuations; and providing specialist advice on capital accounting and capital financing. You will also be responsible for preparing budgets and supporting the wider corporate team to ensure resilience and proper segregation of duties across key functional areas. Requirements include being a qualified Accountant with demonstrable post-qualification experience and ongoing professional development in these areas, plus a combination of finance, systems, analytical and communication skills to deliver an effective corporate finance function. Experience with Oracle Fusion would be advantageous.
