Ultra is seeking a Founding Product Manager to own the end-to-end customer experience and set the roadmap for Ultra’s software ecosystem. As the first product hire, you will work across hardware and software engineering, autonomy, deployments, operations, sales, and leadership. You’ll spend time on the warehouse floor with the people who use the robots and translate those insights into what we ship. You’ll build, prototype, and deliver concrete solutions rather than just spec alone. You will also define what product means at Ultra: the specs, prioritization, and acceptance criteria, guiding the platform as we scale from tens of robots to hundreds, and then thousands. Location: on-site in Brooklyn, United States, with frequent travel.
What you’ll do: - Own the roadmap: decide what we build and in what order, supported by evidence rather than opinions. - Be the voice of the customer: embed on-site with associates, supervisors, and operators; ensure learnings shape what we ship. - Design and prototype: move from problem to working interface, build it, and test with a customer. - Ship with engineering: collaborate with the software team to move from prototype to production and articulate priorities clearly. - Own the hardware/software seam: address latency, faults, teleop handoffs, safety states, and what happens when a robot drops something. - Serve every user type: create a single platform that works for a warehouse associate at 2am and an executive reviewing spend at quarter end. - Support GTM: join customer calls, demos, and pilots; help translate what we’re building into
