Ayres is seeking a Payroll Specialist and General Accountant to join our team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This on-site role manages multi-state payroll, fixed asset accounting, daily cash receipts, and general accounting duties. You will deliver strong customer service to internal and external stakeholders and support payroll processing (including bi-monthly runs and periods when the primary payroll employee is on PTO), quarterly tax filings, W-2 review at year end, and year-end payroll reports for ESOP and audit as requested. You will participate in in-house monthly financial statement processing, preparation of adjusting journal entries, review of the general ledger, and preparation of month-end reports. You will maintain the FAS system and related reports, perform occasional fixed asset audits, monitor asset transfers and disposals, and assist with daily cash receipts and year-end audit schedules. Additional assignments may be directed by the Accounting Director. Qualifications include a positive, professional attitude; strong communication and problem-solving skills; general financial/accounting experience; proficiency with Microsoft Excel; dependability, organization, flexibility, and the ability to multi-task; and prior payroll experience. Preferred qualifications include an Associate Degree in Accounting or related field, experience with UKG, and CPP certification.
