Meta is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Storage Infrastructure team in Bellevue, Washington (on-site). Our storage systems power Meta's products at unprecedented scale, handling exabytes of data with sub-second latency and supporting AI training workloads. In this role you will design and optimize distributed storage systems to deliver high performance and reliability for both traditional web-scale serving and large-scale AI/ML training pipelines. You will communicate complex storage features and architectures, drive the team's technical direction, and lead initiatives to improve throughput, latency, and efficiency at scale. You will partner with organizational leaders to shape staffing, priorities, and the long-term roadmap for storage infrastructure across the company. Responsibilities include leading major storage projects, mentoring engineers, collaborating across functions, and identifying opportunities for storage innovation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field; 8+ years of coding experience in C/C++/Java/C#; 8+ years of building distributed storage systems or server applications; experience leading storage infrastructure projects and mentoring across organizations. Preferred: familiarity with transport protocols, AI tooling, operating system internals, filesystems, and ethical AI practices. Salary range: $219,000/year to $301,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
