Simbe Robotics is seeking its first Controller to establish and scale the accounting function as the company grows in San Francisco, California. This hands-on role will move quickly to understand the business and current accounting practices, integrate with existing outside accounting relationships, and design the systems, processes, and controls needed for enterprise-scale growth, including audits and international expansion.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Oversee the monthly close, starting hands-on and maturing toward a 5–7 day close.
Oversee reconciliations and technical accounting; serve as the primary contact for external audits (PBC lists, workpapers, and auditor relationships).
Build robust controls appropriate for a company of this size and stage.
Partner with FP&A to support forecasting using Planful or similar tooling.
Oversee accounts receivable and collections; coordinate with the finance data analyst to manage invoicing, cash application, and the collections cycle during enterprise rollout.
Manage outside tax and audit relationships, including transitions as the company scales.
Support lender reporting and covenant compliance on the existing debt facility.
10+ years of progressive accounting leadership, advancing through roles such as Accounting Manager, Senior Manager, Director, to Controller/Assistant Controller.
Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller, ideally building or running the function at a smaller or earlier-stage company.
Experience in hardware, SaaS/subscription, and/or hardware-as-a-service; exposure to m
