Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer for the Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team. This role covers all aspects of data collection to support model training, enabling the creation of high-quality datasets at petabyte scale through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research. The ideal candidate will build and operate ingestion pipelines, extend the cloud infrastructure (currently on Google Cloud Platform and Terraform), and collaborate with data scientists to improve data quality, cost, and throughput for next-generation models. You will also partner with the AI Team and Speechify leadership to define the dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products.

What you’ll do: - Find and onboard new audio data sources and bring them into the ingestion pipeline. - Maintain and extend cloud infrastructure for ingestion on GCP with Terraform. - Collaborate with scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and data quality to power new models. - Work with the AI Team and leadership to craft the dataset roadmap.
Ideal candidate: - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field. - 5+ years of industry experience in software development. - Proficiency with Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments; Docker; Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP). - Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
