Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML, with occasional C++ as needed. You will define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development, including code architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability. You will drive accessibility efforts by integrating support for Windows accessibility APIs, ensuring keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and usability for users with disabilities. You will collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning and the long-term roadmap for the Windows platform, and own features end-to-end from conception to release and ongoing maintenance. You will identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, or compatibility problems, proposing robust architectural or design solutions. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of Windows desktop development experience with Windows App SDK/WinUI and C#, plus experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM). They should have a deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code, a track record of delivering production-quality desktop apps, and strong expertise in accessibility APIs.
