UW Credit Union is seeking a Support Engineer II in Madison, Wisconsin to provide second‑level support for external software applications and first‑level support for internal tools in a hybrid work environment. This role operates in an Agile team, focusing on solving complex problems, collaborating with software engineering, DevOps, and database administration to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and effectively. Responsibilities include evaluating incoming support tickets, performing advanced research and diagnosis using logs and monitoring tools, escalating fixes with software engineers and DevOps, reading and understanding code to identify bugs and access controls, implementing code changes to fix software issues, and responding to production incidents. You will prepare and update technical documentation, assist IT leadership with SQL queries for reporting and data needs, facilitate member notifications, and mentor other support engineers. You will also design and configure integration technologies, coordinate Scrum events and release testing, and communicate product changes to business units. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 2–3 years of support engineering experience. Required skills include proficiency with software development tools and OO languages, scripting and query languages, version control, strong written and verbal communication, and on‑call availability.
