The Cost Accountant analyzes, tracks, and reports manufacturing costs to support operational efficiency and financial accuracy. This position partners with operations, supply chain, and finance to provide cost insights, identify variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and recommend process improvements. The role ensures cost accounting practices align with GAAP and internal controls to help leadership make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities: - Perform job cost accounting for specific product lines and projects. - Track and analyze costs including labor, materials, and overhead. - Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies. - Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Substantiate financial transactions through collaboration with internal teams. - Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures. - Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Divisional Controller. - Partner with division leaders to drive efficiency and cost management.

Qualifications: - Associate degree in Accounting required; bachelor’s degree preferred. - 2–4 years of accounting or related experience; prior experience with job costing or cost accounting. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; strong analytical and numerical skills. - Excellent writt
