About the role

TEKEVER is seeking a Software Engineer to join the SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) systems team in Porto Salvo, Portugal. The successful candidate will apply fundamentals in mathematics, electromagnetism, DSP, and programming to understand, validate, and improve SAR/radar system behavior. No prior radar or SAR experience is required, as the candidate will build this expertise on the job with support from the team, including participation in flight test campaigns.

Key responsibilities include applying mathematical and electromagnetic concepts to analyze radar performance, developing and maintaining software in C, C++, and Python to support radar/SAR operation, testing, and data processing; supporting TX/RX lab testing and documenting results; participating in flight test campaigns; helping with test operations readiness and coordination with Product Assurance and other stakeholders; contributing to test/software infrastructure and collaborating with software, hardware, and systems engineers including embedded, Processing System, and RF specialists; communicating progress and test results clearly within the team.

Qualifications include a Master of Science in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related field; strong foundations in mathematics, electromagnetism, and DSP; proficiency in C, C++, and Python; comfortable working in Linux and familiar with Git and standard code review/documentation practices (e.g., Jira, Scrum); autonomous, proactive learner with a desire to develop radar/SAR-specific expertise; good teamwork and clear communication.
