About the role

Sweet Project Construction Limited is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function on a major construction and infrastructure project. You will provide technical governance, engineering assurance and quality assurance across the project, offering independent oversight of design compliance, engineering compliance and technical risk to ensure works align with approved design information, contractual requirements and statutory obligations, following engineering best practice.

Responsibilities include: - Lead the engineering function across the project; establish engineering standards, governance processes and assurance activities; promote consistent decision-making and technical compliance. - Own the Technical Assurance Framework; ensure construction activities comply with employer requirements; provide independent challenge where compliance may be compromised. - Lead multidisciplinary constructability reviews; drive safety, quality and programme certainty; promote practical engineering solutions. - Act as the primary technical interface between design, construction and package delivery teams; manage technical risks and interfaces across all packages. - Own the project quality assurance strategy and NCR governance; supervise corrective actions. - Identify and manage technical risks; escalate issues affecting quality, safety, programme or commercial outcomes; drive lessons learned and continuous improvement. - Lead, mentor and develop Senior Engineers and engineering teams; foster a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
