This role serves established customers in the railway industry through outstanding account management and technical expertise, from proposal development, costing, and quotations to order delivery. The position aims to grow additional business by clearly communicating the SES value proposition to maximize profitability using cost-plus and market-based pricing.
Spang Engineered Solutions designs and manufactures custom inductive components for industries including renewable energy, solar, medical, aerospace, automotive, and military. Manufacturing sites include Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Phoenix, Arizona; McKinney, Texas in the United States, and Xiamen, China.
Primary responsibilities include maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing and potential customers in Railway Signaling, Positive Train Control, and other railway applications; monitoring business in a high-mix, low-volume environment to accommodate changing customer requirements; and coordinating with the Division President and Engineering to pursue new opportunities in the railway segment. The role requires developing expertise in railway standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer requirements; forecasting short- and long-term revenue and gross margin by customer; presenting Engineered Solutions to customers and following up to win business; and leading customer kickoff and design review meetings as needed.
