Appian is seeking an Information Security Engineer Intern to contribute to live security operations, cloud security initiatives, and compliance automation from our McLean, Virginia, United States headquarters. The internship is based in McLean, and interns are expected to work in the office five days a week to collaborate with peers and mentors as part of a hands-on cybersecurity program. Key responsibilities include monitoring security controls to maintain alignment with internal standards and industry regulations, designing and implementing automated processes for security reviews, and assessing risks across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments. You will partner with cross-functional technical teams to translate security concepts into actionable guidance and help advance Appian’s global information security program. Basic qualifications include pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related STEM field with a strong academic record, and the ability to return to school after the Summer 2027 internship. The program runs for 10 weeks at full-time (40 hours/week). Appian does not sponsor employment authorization for this position. AI may be used for preparation; however, live interviews and assessments will follow standard practices unless otherwise stated.
