This role involves assessing supplier capabilities, establishing quality requirements, monitoring supplier performance, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to ensure product quality and compliance with company standards.
Evaluate potential suppliers based on their quality management systems, manufacturing processes, and quality performance history; participate in supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Define quality requirements for materials and components, and establish quality agreements and specifications with suppliers to align on quality expectations. Monitor supplier performance using metrics such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and corrective action responsiveness; conduct regular quality reviews and meetings with suppliers to address issues and drive continuous improvement. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality issues in supplied materials/components. Support supplier development by providing guidance and training to help suppliers meet quality standards. Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier quality and collaborate with suppliers to prevent disruptions in the supply chain.
