Direct engineers and supervising staff, shaping automation strategy, driving continuous improvement and capital projects, and building a high-performance engineering culture. Ensure adherence to Engineering Standards/Specifications, EHS, quality, and GMP manufacturing policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - Set and direct department goals, budgets, and objectives for the engineering area. - Drive the automation engineering function to meet site and business strategy; manage cost centers, project budgets, and delivery of plant and facility projects. - Ensure compliance with applicable policies; verify quality and effectiveness of major projects via sound design, early risk assessments, and fallback strategies. - Understand consequences of design changes and mitigate risk through early risk assessments and fallback plans. - Propose and implement business strategies and engineering controls to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and drive world-class performance. - Collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners to define action plans, timelines, budgets, and allocate engineering resources. - Analyze market forces to identify trends and responses; independently execute or direct design of products/processes/equipment/systems/facilities using advanced engineering concepts. - Develop and manage staff through hiring, performance management, and talent development.
