Microsoft is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (remote, United States) to own telemetry contracts and instrumentation for Global Skilling products. Design and operate experimentation data infrastructure, including A/B testing pipelines, metric definitions, and significance tooling. Build catalog and content management data integrations across the Global Skilling product surface. Lead semantic model design for product analytics in partnership with Reporting and Analytics teams. Build and maintain external (end-customer) reporting for ASN and partner-facing products. Operate Insights and Analytics feedback loops to surface usage patterns, customer feedback, and product signals to engineering. Mentor Data Engineer II engineers on telemetry design, experimentation practices, and product–engineering partnerships. Participate in Microsoft-wide alignment forums to standardize telemetry standards. Be on-call for product-tier pipelines. This role requires at least a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience (or a Bachelor’s with 4+ years), and may require Microsoft Cloud security screenings. Preferred qualifications include experience with Azure data platforms, building production data systems, telemetry discovery, and experience with AI-driven telemetry. Compensation ranges apply (e.g., base pay across the U.S. is USD 119,800 – 234,700 per year; higher ranges in San Francisco Bay Area and New York City).
