BuildOps is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-quality product features and systems across frontend and backend applications, services, and APIs. You will own projects end-to-end—from technical design through rollout and long-term maintenance—partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical plans, and write clean, well-tested code with a bias toward reliability and scalability. You will build user-facing experiences and supporting APIs, design systems with observability and reliability in mind, and work to improve performance, resilience, and cross-team collaboration. You will mentor less-experienced engineers, contribute to engineering culture, and thoughtfully leverage AI tools to accelerate development. The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong fundamentals, experience building reliable APIs and modern web apps, and the ability to work in a hybrid schedule with in-office days Tuesday through Thursday and work-from-home on Monday and Friday. Desired skills include TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Kafka/Redis/Elasticsearch, data pipelines, and AI coding tools. Compensation is $168,000–$224,000 base salary plus annual bonus and stock options.
