About the role

Grainger is seeking an Account Manager in the Manufacturing sector to drive sales growth within a defined geography or vertical market. The role targets a portfolio of 30-35 current accounts with approximately $2-3.5M in annual revenue. You will use Grainger's CRM, Salesforce, to perform all daily sales activities and report to the District Sales Manager of Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Understand customer goals and respond to changing needs.

Demonstrate knowledge of market data and access resources to respond to developments in the customer's business.

Oversee managed inventory tasks to deepen customer understanding and increase sales.

Articulate Grainger's value proposition by providing solutions to grow profitable sales.

Develop account penetration strategies including regular business reviews with essential customers to maximize sales.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
3+ years direct outside sales experience
Sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning
Travel to customers within the aligned market at least once per month, or more frequently where needed
Process discipline and the ability to align planning goals with a pipeline development process to grow revenue
Ability to use the sales process to uncover objections and determine appropriate solutions
