North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to deliver transportation projects from concept through construction. The Deputy PM will work closely with Project Managers, divisions, discipline leads, and other stakeholders to understand project needs, resolve obstacles, and lead multidisciplinary teams to successful on-time and on-budget delivery. Responsibilities include: Proactively manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk for STIP and Non-STIP projects of low to moderate complexity; assist the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager with day-to-day activities on complex STIP projects; support the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in overseeing private engineering firms on external projects; ensure deliverables meet department quality standards; develop and maintain team reports to monitor progress and budgets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution and three years of progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification: May require registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
