BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer for the development and maintenance of large-scale, distributed web applications. This on-site role is based in Columbia, Maryland, United States. The engineer will focus on building robust, scalable systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python, and will leverage DevOps automation to manage cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities include: - Developing and maintaining large-scale distributed web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python. - Architecting scalable microservices and backend systems that support high-performance data processing and communication. - Utilizing DevOps automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code to deploy and manage services in commercial cloud environments. - Creating robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and reliable software updates. - Collaborating with security researchers to integrate engineering practices into offensive cyber and vulnerability research projects. - Working with users and analysts to improve tooling and mission capabilities.

Requirements

8+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus 4+ years of experience.
Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly.
Professional software development experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
Experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade, distributed web applications and architectures.
Experience with DevOps automation, cloud service providers (e.g., AWS), and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
Knowledge of modern software engineering principles, including version control, testing f
