This on-site role supports the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as part of the System Performance and Analysis - Simulation Team, providing technical contributions and guidance to modeling and simulation products that support the design and development of the GWS capability for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

About the role

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Principal Software Engineer – Level 4 to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This on-site role supports the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as part of the System Performance and Analysis - Simulation Team, providing technical contributions and guidance to modeling and simulation products that support the design and development of the GWS capability for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree with 6 years of related experience, or a PhD with 4 years of related experience. Experience with the Atlassian tool suite and software version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket. Experience with Unit Test and System Test Development. Proficiency in C, Go, ADA, and/or Python. Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills. Capable of working both independently and within a team environment. Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start. Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. Must be able to work on-site, in office, in Huntsville, AL.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with simulation and simulation frameworks; Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket; Bamboo, Jenkins, Fortify, Coverity, SQL Databases; experience with containers and container development; Active Security+ certification.
