Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Team Lead for the Day Shift in Patient Access Scheduling. The Team Leader supervises Day Shift Patient Access Representatives in Central Scheduling, ensuring efficient registration, appointment scheduling, and adherence to departmental goals. Responsibilities include monitoring productivity and performance, scheduling and registering patients prior to appointments, handling inbound and outbound calls, assigning daily workflow, and assisting with training and onboarding of new hires. The role also involves interviewing patients to obtain demographic and financial information and entering data into the SMS system, and overseeing inpatient/observation admissions for ED patients as well as urgent and booked patients. The Team Lead coordinates daily activities to optimize staff utilization and maintain harmony within the Admissions Department and related teams. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of medical terminology, and prior medical office, hospital, or physician billing experience with 3–5 years of admitting/registration experience. The position is 40 hours per week, day shift, primarily Monday–Friday with some Saturday half-day rotation.
