About the role

Doctolib is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join the Remote Care stream in Milan, Italy. In this hybrid role, you will design, build, and operate production-grade AI-powered tools that transform how healthcare professionals deliver care beyond in-person encounters, from intelligent patient messaging to telehealth experiences. You will work in a feature team spanning the Patient Messaging platform and Telehealth software, contributing to reduced care team workload and improved patient access to continuous care.

What you will do: - Design, ship, and operate agentic AI systems powering Remote Care products with strong observability, fallbacks, and fail-safe behaviors. - Build and improve AI agents, orchestration systems, and core agentic capabilities including memory, reasoning, tool adapters, and multi-agent coordination. - Partner with ML Engineers to design evaluation pipelines, security/safety guardrails, and metrics; own operational AI projects as data science teams focus on exploratory research. - Own performance, observability, and security: dashboards, SLO/SLI definitions, and security posture, with focus on medical data sensitivity. - Contribute to full-stack development when needed to deliver end-to-end features for healthcare professionals. - Mentor software engineers to build confidently in an agentic AI world.

Requirements

4+ years as a software engineer with hands-on AI/ML systems experience across the full lifecycle of an AI product.
2+ years of Python experience; comfortable with automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.
