Project Engineering Manager – Warrington, United Kingdom (On-site) Assystem, a leading nuclear engineering firm, is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to oversee substantial engineering design resources and be accountable for developing and delivering legally compliant, pragmatic, fit-for-purpose design solutions that meet functional and business requirements. The successful candidate will perform at the Principal Design Engineer 1 level, taking on the specific role of Project Engineering Manager for a Projects Portfolio within the Site Management Project Office, reporting to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering design activities, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints.
Maintain strong governance in a highly regulated environment, applying nuclear safety, security, and regulatory standards.
Manage and develop teams of professionally qualified engineers, including Sellafield and supply chain personnel.
Collaborate with supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to deliver large portfolios of design solutions.
Apply Project Systems Engineering discipline to projects and maintain knowledge of NEC 3 contracts and commercial controls.

Requirements

Graduate qualification (minimum BEng; MEng preferred) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer status.
CPD compliance with a Professional Institution.
Demonstrable experience in Project Systems Engineering within nuclear projects.
Proven leadership of large design engineering portfolios and teams.
