Apple is seeking a generalist Software Engineer to help build and evolve internal admin tools for the Beta Software Program’s Feedback Assistant. This role sits with the Engineering Program Managers and directly serves the people who rely on these tools, touching multiple layers—application, API, and database—often within the same week. You will build and extend applications for managing participants, content, permissions, and configuration across a large and evolving schema; design data processing flows to move feedback through its lifecycle; and contribute to the feedback reading, reporting, and analysis systems in close collaboration with the ML team as ML-powered features and asynchronous processing are introduced. The position is on-site in San Diego, California, United States. An ideal candidate is energized by variety, comfortable switching between projects, and capable of reasoning about SQL schemas as well as building user interfaces on top of them. We welcome both early-career engineers and veteran generalists with breadth across multiple domains. Requirements include 3–5+ years of software development experience, a technical/engineering degree or equivalent, hands-on experience across at least one backend and one client/frontend stack, openness to Swift and Ruby, strong SQL and relational data modeling, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
