Waymo is seeking a Staff Product Data Scientist, Experimentation to join our Product Data Science team. This hybrid role collaborates with Engineering, Product and Operations to help the company make informed decisions using data. The team supports high-impact projects across the organization—driving quality, operational efficiency, market analysis and rider satisfaction—while safely and efficiently scaling the Waymo Driver. In this role, you will report to a Staff Product Data Scientist and help define the science roadmap for Waymo’s marketplace experimentation platform.

Responsibilities

Define the science roadmap for the marketplace experimentation platform.
Develop advanced testing methodologies to address real-world dynamics such as network effects and spatial-temporal correlations.
Establish rigorous best practices for experiment design and evaluation across the product organization.
Partner with engineering to translate algorithmic logic into automated, production-grade pipelines.
Serve as the primary domain expert on causal inference, communicating complex results to influence product strategy.
Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
8+ years of industry experience with a deep focus on causal inference, experimental design, and applied statistics.
Proficiency in SQL and Python; track record of working with engineering to build automated experimentation tools.
Strong product sense and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
