CompQsoft is seeking a hands-on VoIP Deputy Project Manager to support Voice over IP (VoIP) and Unified Communications (UC) modernization initiatives for DoD customers. The role is based in San Diego, United States and requires a working leader who partners with technicians and engineers, mentoring staff while delivering PMI-based project management across concurrent installation, migration, and cutover activities.

Responsibilities include: - Serve as Deputy Project Manager, assisting the PM in daily execution of VoIP/UC projects. - Lead field technicians, engineers, and installers on-site, not just from behind a desk. - Develop and maintain project schedules, staffing plans, and resource assignments per PMI standards. - Track cost and schedule performance, escalate variances, and drive corrective actions. - Coordinate installation, testing, and cutover activities to minimize mission disruption. - Build and develop a high-performing team, mentoring junior staff into senior contributors. - Manage risk, quality, change control, and as-built documentation.

Technical oversight: - Apply knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP/SRTP) and UC platforms (Cisco UCM, Avaya Aura, Microsoft Teams Voice, or equivalents). - Support design, configuration, and deployment of SBCs, voice gateways, and call-control infrastructure. - Integrate VoIP with E911/NG911 and campus/network infrastructure. - Conduct site surveys, develop scope of work, and support design package development; coordinate with network engineering on QoS/VLAN/bandwidth.
