Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Data side of its AI team. This role is based in Vienna with remote work. You will own all aspects of data collection to support model training, building high-quality datasets at petabyte scale while maintaining cost efficiency through tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research.

What you’ll do: - Identify new sources of audio data and bring them into our ingestion pipeline. - Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform. - Collaborate closely with data scientists to shift the cost, throughput, and quality frontier, delivering richer data at larger scale and lower cost to power next-generation models. - Partner with the AI Team and Speechify leadership to craft the dataset roadmap that powers Speechify’s next-generation consumer and enterprise products.

Ideal candidate should have: - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field. - 5+ years of industry software development experience. - Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting in Linux environments. - Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (we use GCP). - Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
