Senior Test Engineer – Fire & Explosion is sought to join Jensen Hughes' Fire Testing Lab in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will design, execute, and analyze research and testing programs to evaluate the fire safety performance of products and systems, from bench-scale to full-scale testing. You will apply specialized equipment such as calorimeters, smoke chambers, thermal imaging cameras, and gas analyzers, and oversee lab facilities and equipment. You will conduct a range of fire tests (fire resistance, flame spread, smoke detection, heat release rate) in accordance with industry standards; manage multiple projects from inception to completion; process and analyze data; and communicate findings through test reports and technical presentations. Leadership opportunities may be available and mentorship of junior lab engineers is encouraged. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field; 3+ years in a client-focused laboratory environment; experience with Li-ion battery abuse testing is strongly preferred. U.S. citizen or permanent resident. On-site at the Baltimore facility in Maryland, USA. The salary range is provided as a good-faith estimate; final compensation depends on responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
