Apple's ASE Compute team is seeking a Senior SRE Software Engineer to own the architecture and reliability of Kubernetes-based infrastructure powering Apple's services at global scale. Based in San Francisco, this on-site role focuses on the Kubernetes controllers and namespace management infrastructure that underpins services such as iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Intelligence, and Maps. You will set the architecture, improve reliability beyond upstream defaults, and engage with the upstream Kubernetes community to drive Apple's requirements. You will implement the hardest parts yourself and elevate the rest of the team through design reviews, mentoring, and the tooling you build. You will serve as the technical authority on platform capabilities and trade-offs, guiding cross-team efforts and the Compute roadmap.
