Chargie is seeking a Senior Data & Backend Engineer to design, build, and support the data platform that powers analytics, BI reporting, and operational visibility for its growing EV charging network. This hybrid role lies at the intersection of data engineering and backend software development. You will own the design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of data pipelines and big-data infrastructure while contributing to API development, debugging production issues, and supporting backend services alongside the core engineering team. You will work with a high degree of autonomy in a lean, high-impact team, shaping how data flows, is modeled, and is surfaced to the business. The role also involves exploring AI-powered tooling to improve scale and efficiency. Responsibilities include building scalable data pipelines and data architecture for analytics, maintaining BI/reporting layers, integrating with third-party platforms and IoT/EV charging infrastructure, connecting to business systems (Zoho, Atlassian, NetSuite), and supporting AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, 5+ years of experience in data engineering and backend development, strong SQL, AWS expertise, Node.js, GraphQL APIs, BI experience (Power BI; Microsoft Fabric a plus), and a proactive, self-directed mindset. Travel and English communication skills are required.
