The Senior Accountant (Corporate Accounting) will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely month-end closes and will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager or Supervisor. This position partners with the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and is responsible for advanced accounting activities related to affordable housing multi-family limited partnerships, including internal controls, GAAP compliance, and driving process improvements across Corporate Accounting. The role also mentors junior staff and may manage or collaborate with our offshore accounting team in India to ensure high-quality work and operational excellence. Primary responsibilities include performing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, SOX controls, and financial reporting; reviewing monthly PMCO packages for completeness and GAAP data integrity; coordinating with PMCOs to ensure data integrity; supporting accounting for capital transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and resyndications); reviewing loan draw packages for resyndicated properties to ensure proper coding to projects and G/L accounts; preparing consolidation and elimination entries; analyzing variances; coordinating with external auditors and preparing GAAP disclosures; identifying opportunities to improve processes and leading implementation; collaborating with internal teams and PMCOs to ensure timely transaction recording and responding to audit requests; overseeing high-volume reconciliations and
