The Senior Accountant will work with the local finance team to manage the finance needs of the Summer Ed Abroad Programs and other accounts within the OUE portfolio. Responsibilities include travel and expense reporting, expense documentation, vendor communications, processing invoices, wire and check requests, and significant involvement with reporting (monthly reconciliations, expense reconciliations, and fiscal year-end reconciliation). Specific duties include running routine reports and ad hoc analyses, advising office leadership on the status of accounts, managing employee reimbursements and journal entries, providing guidance on accounting best practices, researching and interpreting data to answer financial questions, ensuring fiscal accuracy and compliance with Emory policies, and collaborating with departments and budget owners within OUE, Emory College Finance, and University Finance. The role supports audits, meets deadlines, and requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include prior higher education accounting experience, familiarity with Emory financial software, experience working with faculty and students, foreign currency experience, strong organization and time management, and a minimum of four years of relevant accounting experience including account analysis and reconciliation
