Role: Research Projects Program Manager I. The University of Louisville is seeking a Research Projects Program Manager I to plan, coordinate, and execute technology testing events and validation experiences for defense-related projects. The role serves as the primary event director, developing scenarios, assigning team roles, monitoring progress, and ensuring the successful delivery of all program objectives. This is a grant-funded, on-site position with funding through August 15, 2027, contingent upon available funds. The successful candidate must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (Secret or higher) and any necessary export control licenses. The position requires coordinating with DoD sponsors, military stakeholders, academic partners, and industry participants to design realistic test scenarios, success criteria, and evaluation frameworks; oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation; manage logistics for field demonstrations, prototype testing, and technology assessments; and produce after-action reports, lessons learned, and recommendations for technology refinement and transition opportunities into defense acquisition or pilot programs. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years in program management, defense technology testing, operational exercises, or related environments; experience coordinating complex multi-stakeholder projects; PMP certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
