Payroll Accountant is a full-time, on-site position based in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and offers a salary of $65,000 to $75,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

What you’ll do: - Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries. - Review payroll taxes and ensure timely and accurate tax payments. - Review federal and state payroll tax filings for accuracy and compliance. - Post payroll activity to the general ledger. - Reconcile payroll bank accounts and assigned general ledger accounts. - Prepare payroll accruals and month-end journal entries. - Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting. - Perform payroll-related variance analysis. - Support internal and external audits. - Process state unemployment payments for multiple entities. - Assist with other accounting and finance projects as needed.
