Responsibilities

• Provide accurate translation and editing of documents and transcription of audio files.
• Edit audio transcripts that include slang and idioms.
• Edit legal documents such as affidavits and depositions with strong command of legal terminology in both languages.
• Maintain excellent written communication in English and Greek; ILR proficiency level 3+.
• Follow government client style guides and quality standards; use domain-specific terminology.
• Review and certify the quality of other translators’ work as needed.
• Mirror source document formatting in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Utilize CAT tools such as Trados Studio.
• Abide by a code of ethics in transcription and translation.

Requirements

This is a remote

• Willing to undergo a U.S. government background check to obtain a Public Trust clearance (Moderate level).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of experience translating/editing between English and Greek.
• 2–3 years of forensic audio transcription experience with the ability to enhance audio using appropriate software.
• Familiarity with legal terminology in both English and Greek.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using CAT tools, such as SDL Trados.
