The role leads the software architecture and engineering team responsible for onboarding, identity verification, and risk monitoring, tackling challenges such as automating corporate hierarchy analysis and ensuring integration with downstream banking systems. If you have a strong fintech/BaaS or compliance background and a passion for leading engineers to solve complex, high-impact problems, this hybrid Berlin-based position offers influence over the platform’s scalability and regulatory resilience. Responsibilities include leading a team of 5-6 engineers, mentoring developers, maintaining team health, upholding engineering standards, owning the architecture, collaborating on roadmaps, enabling autonomy, building cloud-native systems on GCP/AWS/Azure with security best practices, guiding cross-functional initiatives, and fostering growth and responsible AI usage. Requirements include a Computer Science degree or equivalent, 8+ years of software development experience, 1–2 years in a leadership role, strong architectural leadership, proficiency in programming languages, cloud-native experience, distributed systems knowledge, security expertise, excellent English, ability to communicate across stakeholders, and comfort with AI tools.
