About the role
Overview: The Controller will lead and scale the accounting infrastructure across FIRY’s Skillz and RZR businesses, partnering with FP&A, SEC Reporting, Internal Audit, Legal and People to ensure accurate financials and timely reporting.
Responsibilities
Compensation: Starting compensation including Base + Bonus + Equity: $362,606
- Lead the accounting team to complete daily and monthly tasks and ensure U.S. GAAP compliance
- Own full-cycle general ledger close and related activities (journal entries, reconciliations) within the established close timeline
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting for management and GAAP presentation; perform tie-outs to underlying detail
- Manage stock-based compensation expense calculation and equity roll-forward
- Develop and document accounting policies to strengthen SOX controls; liaise with auditors and oversee quarterly reviews and year-end audit
- Partner with internal audit to ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting; drive process improvements and system enhancements
- Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team; align accounting across Skillz and RZR
- Support variance analysis with FP&A and provide GAAP reporting as needed
Requirements
- Active CPA (state not required to be Nevada)
- 15+ years of relevant operational accounting experience; mix of public accounting and in-house
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; VP-level corporate controllership exp
