Conduct is seeking a pragmatic backend engineer to design and scale the foundational infrastructure that enables our platform to serve enterprise customers. Based in New York, United States, this on-site role offers broad ownership across architecture, developer experience, and production systems. You’ll work on distributed systems, scalable databases, queues, and large-scale batch processing, with a focus on enterprise reliability and real-time LLM workloads. The stack features Kotlin for the backend, React with Vite and TanStack for the frontend, and tools like Temporal and PortKey to manage durable execution and routing. You’ll help create shared abstractions, sensible defaults, and internal tooling that keeps product teams fast and unblocked as we onboard some of the world’s largest companies. If you have 3+ years of backend experience and a knack for system design, you’ll thrive here, mentor others, and raise the bar through better systems.
