You will deploy, scale, and secure backend services, contribute to feature development, and maintain high code quality in a cross-functional, agile team that serves millions of users worldwide. Key responsibilities include deploying, operating, and maintaining scalable systems; developing new backend features for services serving millions; contributing to microservices with clean code and best practices; owning code quality, performance, and stability; working with modern technologies; collaborating in a cross-functional environment while also capable of working independently; and driving NeuroNation's success and growth. Requirements include 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer; strong experience with Docker & Kubernetes (2+ years) and managing deployments; strong PHP 8.x and MySQL (including efficient SQL); familiarity with Laravel Lumen or Slim and MVC architecture; good testing habits (e.g., PHPUnit) and writing clean, maintainable code; experience with cloud platforms (Heroku, AWS); passion for building meaningful products that improve people’s lives; team-player mindset with strong collaboration skills; based in Berlin or willing to relocate; hybrid role with the ability to work from the Berlin office at least 3 days per week; bonus: interest in working with large-scale databases and performance optimization.
