This role sits within the Platform Engineering team, which builds the cloud and container platform landscape to support business applications through self-service capabilities and automation. The Senior Platform Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building, evolving, and maintaining secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud platform infrastructure. You will embed best practices into platform design and delivery across Engineering, Security and FinOps, and mentor junior engineers while supporting knowledge sharing across the team. What you’ll do What you’ll need
- Design and architect scalable AWS cloud infrastructure; develop IaC solutions using Terraform; lead cloud technology evaluation and standardisation.
- Build, optimise, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment; implement DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
- Architect and manage Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, GKE); implement self-service tools to enable platform usage (e.g., Backstage).
- Define monitoring, alerting, and observability standards to ensure reliability and performance.
- Foster collaboration between development and operations teams; mentor teammates and document best practices.
- Cloud infrastructure experience: 4+ years across AWS, GCP, and Azure; strong networking knowledge and IaaS/PaaS patterns.
