About the role

Cloudbeds is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Core AI Squad to design, build, and operate customer-facing AI platform capabilities powering AI-powered experiences across our product. This production-focused role emphasizes agentic workflows, evaluation, and observability, with a primary focus on Python and collaboration with PHP and Java components. You will join a senior, product-minded team that values ownership, pragmatic architecture, and strong collaboration across product, design, data, and engineering.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate customer-facing AI platform services in Python, integrating with PHP and Java systems as needed
Develop agentic harnesses, including runtimes, workflow orchestration, tool execution, state management, recovery paths, and evaluation hooks
Integrate agents and LLM-powered workflows into production systems with reliability, low latency, cost awareness, and scalability
Evaluate models and providers for specific product use cases, with clear success criteria and flexible abstractions
Own evaluation, tracing, observability, and quality feedback loops to detect regressions and improve AI features
Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code and advocate for engineering best practices, automation, and operational excellence
Collaborate with product, design, data, security, and engineering to turn ambiguous AI opportunities into reliable customer-facing features
Build and operate services that interact with PostgreSQL, SQS, gRPC, and REST APIs, including data models, event streams, service contracts, and
