Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Powertrain Assembly
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead projects related to the design and cost estimation of propulsion system assembly for automotive programs, including engines, transmissions, e-Drives, and e-Motors, across North America. This role applies Underbody Process Engineering standards to develop proposals for new product introductions, including process design, layouts, and capital, tooling, and expense estimates. Responsibilities include developing process cost estimates and initial labor/manpower estimates, creating concept layouts and representations, performing product feasibility analyses, identifying opportunities to improve key KPIs (cost, quality, throughput), and preparing process proposal documents for handoff to the UPE team for execution after governance of the program. Qualifications include 15 years of automotive project experience in assembly systems development (engine or transmission), a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, experience leading teams in new product/process introductions and cost estimation, experience managing process engineering development and launch activities, and strong communication and computer skills. Travel of 10–20% may be required to visit Propulsion Division plants and suppliers.
