About the role
Ignitis Group is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Virtualization) to join the IT Infrastructure and Operations division in Vilnius, Lithuania. The role provides technical leadership to ensure reliable and secure IT infrastructure and supports the modernization of critical technology platforms, with a strong focus on virtualization.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available on-premises and hybrid infrastructure, with a strong focus on virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Administer and optimize Linux, Windows Server, and physical server infrastructure, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, hardware diagnostics, firmware management, and component replacement.
- Manage enterprise storage and networking technologies, including SAN/NAS, iSCSI, and VLAN-based networking.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to improve service reliability and incident response.
- Support and improve Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes to meet RTO/RPO objectives.
- Apply infrastructure security best practices, including system hardening, patching, access control, and compliance support in line with ISO 27001, NIS2, or similar frameworks.
- Collaborate with application, security, and operations teams, maintaining technical documentation, and contributing to incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, platform engineering, or IT operations.
